All our H9 engineered oak boards come pre-finished with high-quality UV-cured oils, ensuring short lead times and cost-effectiveness alongside durability and easy installation.

H9 Board Details:

  • Thickness: 15mm (European oak top layer of 3.5mm, birch ply base of 11.5mm).
  • Width: Plank widths of 180mm or 220mm give versatile design options.
  • Length:  Mixed, 0.6m – 2.2m
  • Texture: Medium-Brushed for added definition, character and tactility.
  • Grading: These boards are all Character Grade, so they include filled knots, unique features, and natural colour variation. If you need a cleaner, contemporary look, try our Prime Grade Bristol Tectonic oak planks.
  • Bevel: Micro bevelled (along 2 long edges) to subtly define the joints between each board, giving a quietly traditional appearance.
Sustainability and VOCs
expand

Sustainability:

All H9 engineered oak flooring is responsibly sourced and fully certified by the FSC® (FSC® C131323). This certification guarantees full supply-chain visibility and responsible forest management. To minimise ‘floor miles’, all timber sourcing and production take place in Europe, and the boards are finished by us here in the UK.

Find out more about sustainability at Chaunceys here.

VOCs:

Our engineered oak flooring is rated E1, meaning formaldehyde emissions are no more than 0.1 parts per million — one of the strictest emission standards in Europe. Our finishes are VOC-free. Because they’re typically 100% solids (no evaporating solvents), and cured instantly under UV light, they release zero VOCs once cured.

Samples
expand

We offer product samples so you can see the colour, texture, and finish up close. A small £5.95 charge covers handling and tracked 48-hour delivery.

Online Quantity Calculator
expand

You’ll need to know how many packs to order. To figure this out, you’ll need accurate measurements of the area (in m2) your flooring needs to cover.

Our online calculator will give you the number of full packs you need based on the m² area you provide (automatically including a wastage factor).

Coverage varies by board width. For example, a pack of 180mm-wide planks covers approximately 1.98m², and a pack of 220 mm-wide planks covers approximately 2.42m².

Need help calculating your floor area? Read our guide.

Wastage
expand

The calculator will automatically add on a standard 10% wastage factor (we strongly recommend including this wastage factor, but this can be removed by ticking the ‘remove wastage’ tick box).

Read our guide for more information on wastage.

Lead Times and Delivery

Want to know how long you’ll have to wait for your flooring, and how it will be delivered to you once you’ve placed your order? Here’s what to expect.

Lead Times
expand

As this collection is held in stock pre-finished, orders are typically delivered within 7-10 days. If you need your flooring sooner, expedited delivery may be available depending on location, transport availability, and order size.

Delivery Method
expand

Your flooring will arrive in sealed, protective packs. Larger orders are neatly stacked on pallets for safe, efficient transport.

    • Local deliveries (typically within ~130 miles of Bristol) will usually be made using our own flatbed truck.

    • Longer-distance deliveries are handled by our trusted freight partners, who provide kerbside delivery.

Because packs are long and heavy, please ensure that help is available on site to assist with offloading. If that’s not possible, let us know—we’ll arrange an alternative delivery method.

Pack/Delivery Details
expand

Each pack contains 7 pre-finished engineered oak boards, securely packed face-to-face:

    • 3 long boards (at 2.2 metres)

    • 4 shorter boards (mixed lengths between 0.6m and 1.6m) totalling 4.4m

    • For 180-mm wide, each pack contains: 1.98 m² of flooring. Pack weight: just over 20kg*.

    • For 220mm-wide, each pack contains: 2.42 m² of flooring. Pack weight: just over 25kg*.

*Due to their size and weight, we advise that these packs require a two-person lift.

Please inspect your delivery upon receipt and let us know as soon as possible if there is any noticeable damage/issues.

Site Readiness

Due to the nature of timber, your wood flooring should always be fitted at the final stage of any building project — and only when the site is ready.  Before you place your order, make sure you are ready to receive your delivery.

Are You Ready?
expand

  • Ensure the site is dry, with consistent temperature and humidity level (40–65% RH).
  • The building must be weather-tight, with all outside doors and windows in place. All ‘wet’ work must be complete and thoroughly dry, and the subfloor must be secure, clean, flat, level, and dry.
  • Ensure that the space is clear of furniture and ready for work to start.

Subfloor
expand

If you’re fitting onto a concrete subfloor, it must be secure, clean, flat, level, and dry, i.e., checked for moisture content.

Read more about subfloor considerations here.

Acclimatisation
expand

When it comes to creating beautiful, long-lasting wood flooring, the aim is to keep the planks’ moisture content as stable as possible. We recommend acclimatising the boards on-site for at least 72 hours before installation.

This allows the wood’s moisture content to stabilise to its environment. So, acclimatising your wood flooring before fitting is a vital step, allowing the wood’s moisture content to stabilise on site (the site’s Relative Humidity levels should be consistent and within 40-65% RH).

Fitting

Have you thought about how exactly you are installing the planks? Have you got everything you require to fit the floor seamlessly?

Professional Installation
expand

We strongly advise that a professional floor fitter carry out the installation.

Our own experienced fitting team works across the UK. Get in touch to arrange a fitting quotation.

Installation Method
expand

We always recommend fully bonding the flooring to the subfloor wherever possible to achieve a solid, premium feel underfoot. To do this, your subfloor must be clean, flat, level, and dry.

Alternatively, these planks can also be floated on a suitable underlay, using a suitable PVA glue to secure the floor at the joints.

Underfloor Heating
expand

All our engineered oak floors are compatible with underfloor heating systems. These versatile boards are specifically designed to be structurally stable, resisting the wood’s natural expansions and contractions. For best performance:

  • Maintain a surface temperature below 27°C
  • Increase heat gradually when turning systems on/off (i.e., changing temperature by 1 degree per day).
  • Use adhesives and underlays approved for UFH

Adhesives
expand

We recommend Pallmann P5 — a professional-grade, flexible, one-component wood flooring adhesive with excellent working time, strong bond strength, and very low emissions.

This is stocked and available to order via our website, along with trowels and other fitting accessories.

Other Accessories
expand

Other accessories to complete your installation are also available to order online, including pre-finished threshold strips, trims, stair nosings, pipe covers, floor protection, and maintenance products.

Maintenance

You can order care and maintenance products on our website help you keep your flooring protected and beautiful for many years to come. A bit of preventative care, along with a routine of regular cleaning and occasional maintenance, should keep your wood flooring fully protected and ensure it remains naturally beautiful. Here’s some advice about looking after your new floor.

Preventative Care
expand

Protecting your floors is easier than repairing them.

  • Fit felt pads under furniture legs and always lift heavy pieces rather than dragging them to prevent scratches.
  • Place coir matting at all external doorways
  • Wipe up spills promptly
  • Avoid harsh cleaning products — these can dull the surface and leave a slippery residue.
Cleaning
expand

To prevent any hard particles from building up on your flooring, regularly sweep your floors with a soft-bristled brush or non-abrasive, lint-free mop. Our specially formulated cleaning and maintenance products are also available to order online.

We recommend using our Wash Care, an environmentally friendly, pH-neutral floor cleaning system designed for regular damp cleaning of oiled and lacquered wooden floors.

Maintenance
expand

Our Wax Care formula will regenerate and freshen up worn oiled oak floor surfaces while simultaneously improving wear protection.
