Chevron Engineered Wood Flooring
Chevron engineered wood flooring makes for eye-catching creative parquet design. Our oak chevron can be used to create flooring with a striking geometric pattern, with the small planks cut at 45-degree angles, set against each other to form a ‘V’ shape.
Engineered oak chevron flooring is widely seen as a contemporary choice, but this design also carries strong ties to classic and historic interiors.

Why Choose Our Chevron Parquet Flooring?
Our engineered chevron wood flooring can make a striking design statement. With roots in 17th-century French design, chevron flooring bridges traditional and modern aesthetics. Oak Chevron floors create a dynamic, eye-catching visual flow that brings elegance, rhythm, and visual interest to interiors.
A Sophisticated Pattern
They are a stylish contemporary choice for open-plan spaces and can add a sense of glamour and craftsmanship to more traditional homes, with finish options available to suit any project.
A Sense of Space
The symmetry and clean lines of an engineered oak chevron floor can help elongate or widen the appearance of a room, enhancing the sense of space. This is especially useful in narrow hallways or smaller rooms.
Precision and Stability
Our engineered chevron wood flooring allows for easier installation and excellent stability, making this sophisticated traditional pattern more accessible and compatible with underfloor heating systems.
Oak Chevron Flooring: Design Impact
A well-executed chevron floor demonstrates high-end craftsmanship. Oak’s unique grain and tonal variations enhance the artisanal character of the pattern. Chevron’s directional flow can help define zones or lead the eye toward a focal point (like a fireplace, view, or feature wall).
A pale or natural engineered oak chevron floor can bring texture to minimalist interiors without cluttering the space. Darker finishes or brushed textures can reinforce period charm and architectural detailing of older properties. In retail spaces and hospitality settings, engineered chevron wood flooring communicates luxury and design awareness, often helping elevate the perceived value of the space.

Herringbone and chevron are often confused, but they’re two distinct flooring patterns, each with its own design impact.
With a chevron oak floor pattern, the boards are cut at 45-degree angles (sometimes 60-degree angles) and set against each other so that the ends join in a point. This forms a continuous ‘V’ shape to create a sleek, modern, directional aesthetic. Herringbone parquet flooring is created by placing the rectangular blocks in a staggered zigzag pattern. Read our guide for more details.
Chevron wood flooring is generally more expensive than planks. Chevron is considered a design-led choice, and the added visual interest and sense of luxury often justifies the higher price for homeowners and designers seeking a sophisticated flooring option.
Here are a few reasons why chevron can cost more than planks:
Precision Cutting:
Each Chevron block is cut at an exact angle (usually 45° or 60°) to create the distinctive V-shaped pattern. This requires more time, skill, and waste management during manufacturing.
Installation Complexity and Material Waste::
Chevron parquet patterns must be laid with precision to ensure perfect alignment. This typically requires a skilled installer, increased labour time, and therefore adds to the overall cost. Also, more off-cuts are produced due to angled cuts and the need for layout accuracy.
Whilst we do try to keep as many flooring options as possible stocked in our Bristol warehouse, we may not always have stock available of Chevron flooring. In this case, we would need to order stock specifically for your order, which may result in a slightly longer lead time for your flooring order.
If you’re looking at engineered oak Chevron flooring, we advise checking with us to get an up-to-date lead time for these flooring options.
As standard, we use pre-finished oak planks for our sample send-outs. These plank ‘swatches’ are designed to represent the overall look and colour of your flooring and help guide your choice of finish.
Whilst we do try and stock some pre-finished oak Chevron, please understand that it’s not always feasible for us to hold stock of every available colour option in every flooring format we offer.
Please let our friendly customer service team know if you need to see our samples in the Chevron format. If we don’t have stock for your request, we may be able to produce one for you (depending on production timings and capacity). Alternatively, we could send you an unfinished chevron along with the plank finish sample swatches.
