House Nine Oak Flooring Launch

We’re excited to launch a new collaboration with House Nine Design: a collection of two prefinished engineered oak floors, designed by Jojo Barr and produced at our Bristol finishing facility.

Our Buttered Toast and Burnt Toast flooring is now available to order online,
with delivery in 7–10 days.

This is the result of a long-standing partnership between Chaunceys and House Nine, built on flooring know-how and interior design expertise. Jojo has specified our boards and finishes for House Nine projects for many years. She wanted to give her customers an engineered oak floor of her own: sustainably sourced, dependable, and accessible. Our first collaborative House Nine finish, called Buttered Toast, soon became one of our most requested finishes.

Introducing Burnt Toast

Burnt Toast shares the same characterful board and brushed texture as Buttered Toast, pushed darker and richer. It’s a contrasting alternative with more depth and drama underfoot.

The team enjoyed working alongside Jojo again in Bristol, tailoring the tone of the timber to match her vision for a go-to dark oak floor. We’re genuinely pleased with the boards we produced. It was great to see them in all their glory, installed in Jojo’s own Buckinghamshire guesthouse.

H9 Engineered Oak

We’ve created both these finishes on our H9 Engineered Oak boards (in Character grade with a medium-brushed texture). The boards are made from sustainably managed European oak, and held in stock prefinished, keeping the price accessible and lead times short.

Our H9 boards are durable 15mm engineered oak planks, available at versatile
widths of 180mm or 220mm.

We’re Planting a UK Tree for Every House Nine Flooring Order

Sustainability has been part of how we work since Chaunceys began supplying timber flooring in 1988, and it’s something we look for in the brands and designers we partner with. All H9 Engineered Oak flooring is available FSC® Certified (FSC-C131323).

For this collection, we’re going further: planting a UK tree with Ecologi for every House Nine order.
