These solid exotic timber boards were sourced from disused railway carriages in France and Belgium.
Our Ancient Exotic boards encompass a variety of tropical species, with colouration varying from yellow to rich reddish browns. The tough timbers are available unprocessed as original-faced boards, weathered and scarred from years of service on Europe’s railways.
We recommend adding a brushed texture and a coat of hardwax oil to enrich their natural varied colours and create industrial-style cladding steeped in history.
Reclamation is the only way to source these rare, slow-growing exotic species and be certain of their sustainability credentials.
