This reclaimed oak herringbone floor at Channel 4’s creative hub in Bristol was a labour of love that added plenty of personality and charm to this inspiring creative space.
By processing our reclaimed Box Car Oak planks, we created characterful, solid herringbone blocks. We sourced the original Box Car Oak boards from deconstructed European railway carriages, creating a bespoke, authentic reclaimed parquet floor.
Amarelle transformed these offices with sustainability in mind. A key focus was utilising locally sourced, eco-conscious materials and furnishings.
To enhance the original reclaimed appearance of the boards, we applied a hit-and-miss sanding process, adding a clear oil top coat for wear protection. The eye-catching timeless herringbone pattern featured in this project brings out the reclaimed oak’s rustic variation; the matt oil finish magnifies its character and brings out its natural warmth.
