Designed with sustainability in mind, our clients Amarelle transformed these offices utilising locally sourced, eco-conscious materials and furnishings. This reclaimed herringbone ‘Boxcar’ oak floor was a bespoke product we created for this inspiring space at Channel 4’s newest creative hub in Bristol.
We processed the large, original reclaimed Legacy Oak planks, sourced from deconstructed railway carriages, and transformed them into solid herringbone blocks. To enhance the original reclaimed appearance of the boards, we applied a hit-and-miss sanding process, adding a clear oil top coat for wear protection. The eye-catching timeless herringbone pattern featured in this project brings out the reclaimed oak’s rustic variation; the matt oil finish magnifies its character and brings out its natural warmth.
