Gainborough's House engineered end grain oak flooring

We supplied almost 400m2 of our engineered oak flooring for the redevelopment of Gainsborough’s House in Sudbury, Suffolk — a national gallery for one of Britain’s greatest landscape artists. Our engineered End Grain Oak blocks were an excellent choice for this busy public space, creating a durable oak floor with striking natural variation.

A mixture of Double Smoked, and Double Smoked and White Oiled finishes made for exceptional eye-catching hardwood floors. Adding to the impressive visuals on the ground floor, our Double Smoked End Grain blocks were fitted up to a bespoke solid oak scotia with a groove to accommodate our engineered smoked oak planks as upstands. We colour-matched the scotia to these smoked oak boards, creating wood flooring that continues seamlessly up the gallery walls.

We also supplied our Dream White engineered oak planks to create contrasting, prime-grade light oak floors, with our 220mm-wide planks in the first floor’s Community Gallery and 300mm-wide planks on the second floor landing and the Landscape Studio.
