It was a pleasure to plant trees with the Forest of Avon Trust last week. Matthew Cooper and I were fortunate to leave our desks to spend the day volunteering near Almondsbury, along with a fantastic team from Ecosurety.
Thankfully, the weather was perfect, and we were all spurred on by the positive atmosphere (and some great music) on a mission to get as many trees in the ground as possible.
We left the site physically exhausted but pleased with what we achieved. The lunch-break tree count was over 600 trees, and we aimed to double that figure in the afternoon (we're keen to find out what the day's final count was, but I'd estimate we planted well over 1000 trees altogether).
We highly recommend getting involved with the Forest of Avon Trust's tree planting events and we will be sending more volunteers their way as often as we can. Find out more about the Forest of Avon here: Forest of Avon: Your Local Community Forest | Forest Of Avon Trust
Looking forward to seeing the Forest of Avon grow up around us.
