This style of staircase can be closed string, where the steps are enclosed by two solid strings, or open string, where you see the edges of the steps on one or two sides.

Waterfall stairs use a nosing that finishes flush with the riser, creating a seamless look, ideal for a minimalist aesthetic.

Colour-Matched Waterfall Stair Nosings

We can provide Waterfall nosings and steps prefinished to match your chosen flooring’s texture and colour. If you have a simple closed string staircase, these can simply be cut to size and installed on site.

For more complex designs, including curved stairs and bespoke details, we will work with you to find the perfect solution compatible with our flooring.

We have been thrilled by the results of our re-modelled staircase by Chaunceys. We wanted to our stairs to blend in with the flooring in the hall, removing the lip on the old staircase to give a more contemporary look.
