Ask About Our DuraLaq® Finish
DuraLaq® is our commercial-grade protective finish for wood flooring. It’s an innovative hybrid UV-cured finish that provides all the benefits of an oiled finish plus the toughness of a polyurethane lacquer. We recommend this to increase floor durability in high-traffic spaces.
When frequent cleaning is required—such as in hospitality, retail, or high-traffic residential settings—the best wood flooring finishes are those that offer durability, practicality and ease of maintenance.
Modern UV-cured oils give the natural aesthetic of hardwax oils but with more durability. They are available in matte, satin, or gloss finishes and they are also spot-repairable without sanding the whole floor. They can be cleaned using pH-neutral cleaners (avoid harsh chemicals).
Water-based lacquers offer high durability and scratch resistance. They are also easy to clean with standard cleaning products, but they’re not easily spot-repairable, so maintenance for damaged areas may be more disruptive. These are also available in various sheen levels.

Yes, we can complete all our interior wood cladding with intumescent coatings in-house, achieving a ‘Class 0’ (BS 476) fire rating in accordance with UK fire safety regulations.
Our high-quality UV-cured oils or hard wax oil are great for spot repairs. We recommend focusing on preventive care, regular maintenance, and localised repairs rather than full sanding cycles.
Divide the venue into maintenance zones (e.g., lobby, corridors, dining areas and schedule work during low-traffic periods. Rotate these zones so only a small section is out of service at any time.
It’s advisable to have on-site repair kits: for oil-finished floors, localised touch-ups can be done overnight. Apply a fresh coat of finish periodically (every 3 to 5 years) without deep sanding— this should take hours, not days.
