Chaunceys’ Showroom Launch

Our Launch Week and Trade Day

Our Launch Week was a chance for clients to come in and see our showroom in all its glory, and for us to show off our upgraded production facilities. With all the changes and challenges over the last year or so, Launch Week was also the perfect time for an overdue celebration of all our recent achievements and the exciting opportunities that lie ahead.

It was a great opportunity to bring together industry professionals at our Trade Day on Thursday 13th October. Architects, interior designers, builders and specifiers joined us for an afternoon of inspiration, learning and relaxed networking.

Here’s an overview of what happened…

A Warm Welcome

To kick off proceedings, Ian Tomlinson, our Managing Director, welcomed everyone with an introductory talk about Chaunceys and a brief overview of the plan for the day. We made our guests feel at home with teas and coffees, glasses of fizz, and sweet treats from Pinkmans Bakery.

Next, everyone donned high-vis jackets for an informative behind-the-scenes tour of our warehouse and production facility.

The launch was great – thanks for hosting such an enjoyable afternoon and inviting us to join you!

Behind-the-Scenes Tour

Starting in our new warehouse, the tour took our guests on ‘a journey of wood flooring’ — from raw materials through to the creation of our finished Bristol® Tectonic engineered oak planks. We had some great feedback, and we’re hoping to be able to offer access to our production area to our clients in future, whenever feasible.

Thank you so much for having us. It was so interesting to see and hear the full process of how your flooring is made and to have a tour of the warehouse.

And to Finish: Our New Production Line

The tour came to an end with a demonstration of our newly installed finishing line, which was up and running just in time for Trade Day. We were excited to be able to showcase the operation as the production team ran through their first full order using the new machines — for Jojo Barr’s latest project.

The state-of-the art production machinery will make our processes significantly more efficient, with improved controllability, ensuring that we can continue to consistently achieve high-quality finishes.

The thought, care and attention that went into the afternoon was an excellent reflection of the work we have seen Chaunceys put into the projects you’ve worked on for us.

An Interior Design Q&A with Jojo Barr

Following the tour — and some time to mingle, chat, and explore the showroom — everyone enjoyed a Q&A session with Jojo Barr, Creative Director and founder of acclaimed interior design practice, House Nine Design.

Ian, our MD, kicked off the conversation, exploring Jojo’s design ethos, our collaborations, current trends, challenges and future plans. There were also some really thoughtful questions asked by our guests, all answered with expert insight.

The talk with Jojo was great and certainly made the event really relevant to us and the types of clients we work with.

Time to Celebrate

The celebrations continued through the afternoon into the evening. There was a great atmosphere in the showroom, with conversations fuelled by incredible cocktails from Gin & Juice, delicious canapés from Papadeli, spicy chorizo pokers from Somerset Charcuterie, and The Newt in Somerset‘s Signature Blend Cyder.

We all had a great time, thank you again for the lovely drinks and food!

A Tree Planted for Every Visitor

In partnership with Bristol-based environmental organisation Ecologi, we used the Launch Week to establish the Chaunceys Forest, and kick off our new tree planting initiative. Each visitor was given a card with a What3Words location, pinpointing precisely where in the UK their tree was planted.

Positive Connections

The afternoon was an opportunity to re-connect with clients who we’ve worked with for many years, and to offer our hospitality to some newer clients with the full Chaunceys showroom experience. And by all accounts, everyone left with Chaunceys goodie bags in their hands and smiles on their faces.

Certainly now, perhaps more than I would have before, I’d encourage our clients to visit you to explore the options of finish, colour and style.

Thanks!

It was a great team effort to get the showroom looking its best and to make the day run smoothly. So, we’d also like to say a massive thank you to everyone involved in making it such a fantastic event. And, of course, thanks to everyone who came along and celebrated with us.
